We have a double shower that's open on both sides. It'd big enough that the floors don't get wet but it is drafty, so we keep the bathroom door closed when showering, which fogs up the mirrors. I want to get glass doors.

Hate them. Water goes everywhere. My MIL has ine and everytime I take a shower there water goes everywhere. Just awful

I absolutely hate the open shower or half glass wall shower. They have these all over Europe and they're a huge pain in the neck as the bathroom floor gets all wet. I'm not sure who came up with the idea, because it defies all common sense.
The only time I could see it working is if you had a huge walk-in shower that was almost entirely enclosed in tile, with just a small opening to get in and out of, far away from the water itself. Otherwise, give me a sturdy door or even a curtain, any day.

We rent the same vacation house in Santa Fe every year. It's a modern house, with an open shower in the master. I love staying there, it's a magical place, but I freeze in the shower unless it's warm out. I'm not going to crank up the heat to 85 and wait an hour for the bathroom to warm up every time I take a shower.

No problem with the temp for us. Cleaning is so much easier and the look is way more up to date. Go for it and see if you like it. Much easier to enclose later than to open up after you've built in a frame.

Unless you design it so that you're standing right in front of the opening, it really doesn't get cold. We have one and it's fine even after I turn the water off.

So is gas but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to conserve our natural resources.
That kind of shower is frivolous and wasteful.
unless you shoot water to space it eventually comes back as rain.

The open shower idea works better in a small bathroom. It's fairly common in Japan (at least in our experience). My younger brother is doing it in his bachelor condo.
