To all those suggesting Metro:
OP has already said it's a weekend flight and takes off at 8:30. Being that it's International, metro won't be running early enough to get OP there on time.

OP, honestly you sound like a self centered PITA. You want everything EXACTLY YOUR WAY and don't want to have to pay a fair price for it.

Uber is the best. Or take metro.

After all, what do you think we all do when we have to go out to BWI from Northern VA?

Some of the hotels in crystal city have park & fly packages with one night stay & a shuttle to the airport. Might be less hassle and worth the cost?

You can pre-order Barwood as well.

You can use the uber app to hail a regular licensed taxicab, although if you are in outer burbs, you would be better off using a cab dispatch service.

Yes uber is a little troubling b/c they are unregulated and likely underinsured.

Since your ride is terminating in Arlington you can use red top cab and I believe pay Arlington rates which I think are lower.

They also offer sedan service but not sure which is cheaper.

Estimate is $32 from SS metro to DCA

There are often Groupon/LivingSocial/etc deals for airport transportation.

Why not? Because someone else is using it? Have that person drive you, for the privilege of using the car.

Why does Uber make you nervous? Cabs make me a lot more nervous than Uber. The drivers are terrible and slow, the cars old and gross. Uber drivers are friendly, good drivers (at least in my experience, and each driver has reviews in the app), fast but not too fast, and the cars are new and very clean and supposedly well maintained. The only thing about taking Uber that would make me nervous is that you may not have a close by car that early in the morning. It would not be $120 for Uber. Even Uber Black isn't that much, and Uber X is fine for most people ($31 at most from SS Metro).

I pay around $80 for car service from my Rockville location to BWI. $80 is not an unreasonable amount to spend on car service to an airport. Suck it up and go with Regency.
