Do they always one up your parents or something, because on face value this is nothin to complain about. Maybe they messed up the number. Or maybe they thought you needed more money. Or maybe they were being nice.

My inlaws give us checks for our birthdays too. It's a birthday gift. People do that. My parents give us cash, or gift cards or a gift.
