Has anyone received the ad while using wifi?

I'm getting it with t mobile.

I noticed that everyone who has reported receiving this ad was using AT&T's mobile network. My iPhone uses AT&T as well. So, I disconnected from wifi and used the cell network. Right away, I got the ad. Then, I turned on wifi again and viewed several DCUM posts without getting the ad. I think whichever advertiser is sneaking the ad onto an ad network is only serving it to AT&T or possibly any mobile addresses. That makes it very difficult for those of us troubleshooting it to catch it.

I'm going to try to use my phone as a mobile hotspot and try to catch the traffic with my desktop browser and proxy. In the meantime, if you have any option to use wifi, try that and I bet the problem will go away.

It isn't really w pop up. It's a takeover ad.

If you are still getting this popup issue, you should probably install an ad blocker, which IOS9 supports. I would almost never suggest that because we need people to view our ads to make money. But, I don't expect anyone to put up with constant pop-ups and I can't find a way to stop the problem.

Also this is one of the few websites that I'm actually on for more than a few minutes at a time. That probably has something to do with feeling like it's only here.

It is hard to say why DCUM is susceptible to it because I don't understand why it occurs. For instance, you and another poster are getting the ad on almost every page and I haven't seen it all day. I use multiple ad networks and all of them use different networks themselves. So, know from where it is coming is difficult. Over the past few months, I have diagnosed two different causes of the redirect. One was from Google which is probably the largest ad network there is. If you search for this issue, many websites are impacted. So, while you only see it here, that is probably more coincidence than anything. Because the same few users seem to have this problem over and over again, I think there is something in your usage behavior that contributes to it. For instance, you may get a cookie someplace else or do something else that causes you to get this particular ad, while most of the rest of our users don't. But, that's just a guess.

Just did it. My "do not track" wasnt green. So far, so good. Thanks

Go to "Settings" -> "Safari" and make sure that "Block Pop-ups" is green. "Do Not Track" is green. "Block Cookies" is "Allow from Websites I Visit" or "Allow from Current Website Only", and "Fraudulent Website Warning" is green. Then, "Clear History and Website Data".

See if that makes any difference.
