You can't. We just couldn't have a birthday party in K for any of our kids.

Some parents have brought in paper invites and the kids hand them out after class time, but that's problematic because K kids often lose them and/or maybe didn't hand them out.

We've had our kids bring notes to their friends that say "Hi-I'm Larla's mom and would like to get in touch with Larlo's mom for a playdate. Can you contact me at: X". Sometimes they never texted me, but some parents did and then we could have playdates.

Annoying- why can't they just give out parent info!?!

Holy crap - our school doesn’t have a PTA directory. We used to be at a Title One school that did have a directory, but nobody seemed to use it so even with the directory, it was hard to access parents email addresses for birthday invites, etc.

Our school used an online directory and only published the contact info for PTA members. The PTA’s selling point was to join so your kids could receive party invitations.

So, you can't give out invitations at school. Can you give your children notes to give to their friends. Something like this:

"Hi, I'm Larla's mom and we'd like to connect outside of school. Please contact me at (202) 555-1212 or LarlaMom@gmail.com. Thanks!"

That's not an invitation and you aren't excluding any children from an invitation, but it asks the parents to reach out to you. You are trying to get their contact information. Would your school allow that? I think ours would have, but I don't know. Our school directory was always available in Synergy when the school year started.

If it's for the whole class, teacher will be happy to share info.

Teacher will not help you plan your exclusive events.
