DS's school just started with 4th grade math at the beginning of the year. It worked out well because the class finished the book by the end of the year. Every year is a review of math in some form. During independent work time there was some focus on making sure everyone understood 3rd grade concepts. And they took the 3rd grade SOL math test.

Hi PP, DH with 2 DS in AAP here, and I'm not reading that post as arrogant. but insensitively phrased.
IQ = above average
