I'm honestly completely confused by this whole thread. I have no idea what anyone is talking about. I would say Isla like the Spanish word for island (as the PP pointed out), and I would say Ayla like "eye-la." Are either of these the correct pronunciation?

Anyone who speaks Spanish would pronounce Isla like the Spanish word for island. Unless you are Scottish go with Ayla

I think Ayla makes more sense for this country. If you spell it with an "I" you'll be getting Iz-la.

I know an Aisla. I think that's a pretty spelling. Ayla would be mispronounced a lot.
