We don't supplement. Kids are in HGC and MS magnet. They are getting a better education than I received at those ages.

PP here. No, it's not different. I only stated we are in a non W cluster because some people seem to think only W cluster schools have better everything, including teachers and what is taught, that some how, the non W cluster schools aren't good.

And no, they don't have better cafeteria food. All MCPS schools have the same cafeteria food.

But no, it's the same curriculum everywhere. W schools, schools in Ganginfestedlandia, and schools in Bumfuckistan (where I live) all have the same curriculum.

My middle schooler (in a W cluster) has been learning sentence diagramming--last year and this.

Cursive is a huge waste of time.

But otherwise, I would always supplement. I do not understand the attitude at all of parents who do not take an active role in their children's education. This just seems neglectful to me.

It's spotty, but it does get taught, I think starting 1st or 2nd, DD learned about adjectives, adverbs, verbs. Other DC learned more in 4th grade. This is in MCPS, not W school.
