Back in NJ we bet on everything. For every kid in the family there is always a pool to bet on certain parameters. The baby keeps half the $$ the winner takes the rest.

Make up a chart, each better has to guess:

Date of birth
Boy or Girl
Weight.

The ante can be whatever you want: $1, $5, $10 etc.

Generally, you have to guess the first two correctly and then the weight one can be the tie breaker if necessary.

Of course if you have a scheduled c-section and know the sex, all bets are off (literally). And there is no immediate winner, but it keeps people interested.

Depending on the size of the shower, you could play a game where each person writes down a funny thing they did when they were a child. They write them down anonymously. Example - as a kid, when I was learning to write my name, I carved my name into my parent's dining room table. Collect all the cards. Read out the thing and have people guess who might have done that as a kid. This also gives parent to be chance to hear all the things that could happen! Works well at a smaller shower or one where people know a lot of the people, but we had a blast playing. It also helps people feel involved in the shower, which I liked.

I loathe baby shower games but my best friend was really into them so these were the least offensive ones I came up with...

Name that song/artist-download a number of popular songs with the word baby in them and play a little snippet of each. 1pt for the correct song title, 1pt for the correct artist. The person with the highest number of points wins a small prize.

Match the celebrity to the baby name-This game is all over the internet and it was actually fun.

Not a game but I recently attended a baby shower where each attendee had to illustrate a page in an ABC book for the baby. It was really adorable.

This is the one time when cheesy games are acceptable. Play them! They are a hoot.

Price is Right PP. I had about 8-9 baby items ranging from $1.99-$40 (think butt paste, thermometer, nursing pads (best to get things off registry that MTB wants), had 4 volunteers come up and take turns guessing the price just like price is right, closest to the revealed amount without going over wins the prize (just for game, MTB gets all gifts at the end). The person that wins the item gets to guess last for next round just like the game show. Participant with most items wins the game prize (gift cards are always good). The audience/those not participating can help contestants by blurting out prices just like the game show.
