My advice from a cheating man your age. Don't ask, don't tell. I love my wife deeply. I'm going thru a mid-life crisis, has to do with the knowledge that I'm facing ED issues and other things. It's not because I don't love my wife. I hate betraying her, but once I'm thru with my issues on immortality, I will totally be devoted again. If you love him, give him some leeway to see thru what can be a dark period for many humans. At some point, he will likely drop the Affair and begin having sex with you again. I suggest you never bring it up.
Plus 1. A lot of men cheat who are otherwise great husbands and fathers and if you let the affair run its course, he will be done with it and return to you.
Not romantic advice, but practical. What will you gain by knowing? Its like the red-headed son question, what will a paternity test do to actually help a situation?

You mention that he travels a lot. Do you think he is meeting a specific person on many of these trips, or that he is having one night stands on these trips?
If you think he is traveling and repeatedly meeting a specific person, can you go there too? Don't tell him-quietly make arrangements for care for your children, time off work and airline tickets. Then, just show up at his hotel. Find out what room he is in (front desk clerk likely will not tell you--you will have to call him and ask, maybe tell him you want to send him a surprise) and knock on the door.

As a woman to another woman let me give you some life advice here...If you suspect he may be cheating, then he probably is. Trust your women's intuition on this, your gut is rarely if ever incorrect.
But I see your side, you do not want to act irrationally, esp. with your children and so much time invested in your relationship.
However to the best of my own knowledge, there is no sure fire way of knowing if your man is being untrue to you. Aside from getting him to take a lie detector test or by hiring a P.I. to follow him.
And if you actually do make these things a huge priority for your relationship...Well that in itself is a huge red flag that things have turned for the worst.
Do you suspect he could be gay?? If not, then the sudden lack of interest in sex on his part speaks volumes that he most likely is getting his needs met on the down low.
