NP who read very carefully, I don't see anyone saying suicide is a positive, I think pp was saying that even though realistically it's probably true that Josh isn't self-aware enough to get real therapy and change, she has a small amount of hope that maybe he is.

I hope not either. That would be truly tragic for his kids and I would completely blame his parents.

I already do blame them. I think they need to release a statement that says they are praying for guidance for how to parent and seek therapy.

I feel bad for Josh. I mean if he was a kid who grew up in a normal home with normal parents and a normal family, I would be more apt to just blame him.

But Josh has to feel like he tried so hard to do all the right things his parents told him - going to church, courtship and no kissing or hand holding, get married young, have a bunch of kids - would lead to happiness and then he still didn't find the happiness or fulfilled like he was supposed to. How soul crushing that must be for a young adult who really believed that he was going to be guaranteed lifelong happiness and then to not have that happen but to have absolutely no one to talk to about it. I am not surprised by what happens.

What would truly be great is if he did go to a real rehab and therapy center, moved Anna and the kids and him far away from any of their family and just tried to start over as a normal, regular family.

This is so clever of the Duggars and Seewalds! With their numerous kids and married children without jobs and qualifications, they need their reality show to be back on.

So, they have chosen Jessa and Ben, the nicest looking couple of the lot, to slam Josh now!

I think that they are saying that out of support for Anna who is no doubt really hurting. And out of respect for the values that Jessa and Ben were both brought up with. She is pregnant I think (or has she had the baby?). At any rate, this whole thing with Josh is very sad. I don't think Jessa and Ben have even been married for a year, they have a baby on the way...and now this horrible shocking thing.

I don't want to say I feel sorry for him, since that feels wrong. He could have ended up a depraved individual even coming from the most 'normal' of homes. But the childhood that he had certainly didn't set him up for a normal teen and adulthood.

At the same time, my heart breaks for pretty much everyone under the age of 25 involved in all of this family. I used to watch the show and love it, seemed like a sweet but extra large wholesome family when their specials first aired years and years ago. Now I'm just sick. Not just for Anna and her children. Not just for Jessa and Jill. But for the younger kids too, because life in that household can't be good right now.
