Not many Indians choose to live in the city, so I basically have no day to day interactions with them, although I do have interactions with other minorities. So basically, what I'm trying to say is I don't have any sentiment about Indians, whether good, bad, or indifferent. I don't notice it on DCUM either. I DO notice a very strong anti-African American sentiment here, though. I will say I do love Indian food. Yum.
You must be new to the area. I live in Washington and my neighborhood has a lot of Indian people.
You quoted me. I've lived here since 1994. I've never run across a lot of Indians in any neighborhood I've lived in (Mount Pleasant, Capitol Hill, and now Glover Park). What neighborhood do you live in?

You've posted similar statements before. Every, single time I feel so sorry for your half Indian children who will face the same discrimination and prejudices from society and their own mother.
+1 I'm not Indian. Why did you marry him if you find him annoying since you stated "them"?

I will admit that Asian ethnic groups (particularly Indians, Japanese, Chinese and Koreans) seem very concerned with money, status and achievements, even more so than many Americans. Some of this seems to relate to how they have more of a collectivist society, meaning a person's behavior can bring shame or pride upon their entire family. It seems to provide extra motivation to attain a strong standing in society, since you're not doing it just for yourself, but for your whole family.

Anonymous wrote:Ummm don't you remember the video of Indian parents climbing a school wall to help their kids cheat on an exam? If you cheat like this in life, people will hate you regardless who you are and where are you from.
Anonymous wrote:I don't like going to Indian owned convenience stores. The family usually runs them and they stare. No smile, no thank you, look at you like you're a thief.
Other than that, I have no interaction with them.
Anonymous wrote:I see more anti-Hispanic, anti- African American, anti-Muslim, and anti-Catholic sentiment on DCUM. The hatred of Latinos here is really shocking. Latinos appear to be the most hated group on DCUM and in America right now besides Muslims.
Anonymous wrote:From all the threads on Indians that are posted here, I get the impression that there is a strong anti-Indian sentiment on this board. Do you see this reflected in your day to day interactions? Is it the anonymity that brings out the haters here or is it just a small number of overactive posters.
