Lots of Indian families in Fairfax because of the good schools. When we lived in apartments in Tysons most of our neighbors were Indian.

Ashburn, specifically the neighborhoods of Broadlands, Brambleton and Loudoun Valley Estates have tons in Indians. There is even a cricket league (I'm not kidding).

Just wait until you go on tours of the state colleges and universities with your high schoolers. The Indian parents totally monopolize the tours asking inane questions. Neither their kids nor yours will get a word in edgewise.

As a state, VA has more Indians in absolute numbers, but less than MD as a % of the total population, but not by much.. like .5% or something.

Nepalese and Bangledeshi tend to live closer in Virginia because they have more service sector jobs.

Geez, calm down! I didn't take the OP's question as racist. Maybe the OP is an immigrant who is new to the DC area and wants to reside in a community with like-minded people. It's important in some cultures to have a strong support system.

Chantilly, Ashburn, Fairfax, and Centreville in Virginia have large percentages of Indian families. In Maryland Indian families are sprinkled in Howard County and in Montgomery County. However, there are neighborhoods in Fairfax and in Loudoun Counties where Indian families make up the majority of residents. Indians tend to flock to neighborhoods where there are other groups of Asians and where the schools are excellent. You will not see that many Indian families in DC or in the inner beltway communities. To be honest many Asian families don't consider living in DC unless they're going to pay for private school. DC is an option for those who are single and childless. You will find more married Indians with children in the suburbs.

Is that sport popular mostly with first generation immigrants? I have many indian friends from college who were second or third gen and never heard any mention cricket.
