I love my Mirena IUD. It lasts for 5 years, so you can have it removed if you want one more kid.

No issues here at all - I haven't had a period since I got it, and no other side effects. It is unsettling to not have some sort of monthly sign that I'm not pregnant, though.

Does the paraguard give you heavier periods? I"ve heard that it can.

I have the implant now and am hoping things regulate soon. It's been 3 months (supposed to wait 6). I have a ton of breakthrough bleeding.

The pill messed me up, I had horrible cramps and acne without anything, mirena is my happy medium.

OP here. That was my view. We don't have sex much and I can't get pregnant without IVF. What are the odds that on the rare occasion that we do it, I'm ovulating (which I usually don't), it is a good quality egg (which it usually isn't), and I get pregnant. Yeah, I have a friend who had extreme difficulty getting pregnant the first time and needed multiple rounds of IVF. Her second child was conceived totally without medical assistance. It's unlikely, but not impossible. I'd talk to your doctor about an IUD, either Mirena or Paraguard. Both have pros and cons, of course, so it's not obvious which one will be best for you.
