I figured. I grew up in an old house with lots of antiques. I think my ideas of how to treat furniture, wood floors, and the like are different from most people's.


So are your ideas about how to treat handbags and backpacks.

I never put handbags or other bags on the floor. Gross and dirty.

Me too. I LOVE having houseguests. I don’t care if they don’t always clean up after themselves or put their feet or bags on furniture. There is no piece of furniture in my house more precious to me than my family and friends. When they come to my house, I want it to be like a little vacation for them. I don’t mind doing a little extra work to make sure they are comfortable, well fed, and happy. And, they would do the same for me.

Soaking dishes sound like a reasonable thing to do. If I had to wash them, soaking first is the way to go. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

I never put my handbag on the floor, not anywhere. It's not sanitary.

My MIL wanted to film my 2 year old going potty today so his 9 year old cousin could watch over FaceTime and was out out when I said no. This is after they had already been on a FaceTime call with said cousin for nearly an hour.
