Post 08/14/2015 14:09     Subject: I was called back from vacation...for an empty soda bottle

Op here. Been in meetings all morning about this. The pm I am referring to is in my company. He was given a list of issues by the govt pm, with a complete by date of today. The govt pm did not mean to call anyone back from vacation for this. There are three issues that they have to deal with: my time, my travel expenses, and the misreprestation of the reason for the call back: made it sound like there was a real issue.

They also now have my resignation letter. But, at this point, they are trying to talk me into staying.

You have a job that you can't discuss over an open line but you thought it was a good idea to write about this very specific job related story on an internet message board?

It is a civil code violation to mix recyclables with other trash. And the federal government does not have to follow DC law.

Is the pm a contractor or a govt employee?

Op I hope you post back and let us know how it goes.

I'm also a Fed. The PM is most likely a govt employee. We do have periodic safety inspections and we aren't supposed to have trash/dirty offices. So maybe that's why? But it seems like overkill to have failed for that one reason and also to call the contractor back from vacation. Follow up post from OP makes it sound like there will be repercussions for PM for doing that.

I know. That's what I mean. They'd know and might not think well of it.

They really aren't in a position to be judging. OP is not revealing anything identifiable, and I'm so glad to her there will be repercussions for the PM.
Absolutely outrageous.

I would definitely need to see some people cry before I could let it go.
