My friend's 4 year old realized her friends' baby sibling got more attention than older kids, and decided baby talk would be cute. She would only say "goo goo gah gah" to me when I visited, and she did the same with any people she didn't see very often. I found it puzzling and it really annoyed my friend (her mom). Fortunately the phase passed, and now she's a very smart middle school student with a great vocabulary.

Mine puts a little plastic toy bin on his head and talks like a robot. Then he takes off the bin and says, "It's just me, mama!" with a huge grin. It's awesome.

my 2.5 year old has taken to randomly shrieking - usually while we are in the car. The baby laughs and loves it..which eggs her on. Thankfully, i have not yet driven into a tree. Ugga Mugga..

My 3 yo was a baby skunk this morning. Sometimes he's a baby turtle or a baby cat. Other times he's a ninja or Spiderman.

How bizarre, mine did that too!! Around that age. I thought it so irritating. She just made high-pitched noises instead of really talking. I stopped letting her watch Curious George and the behavior stopped eventually. I also realized at that point that she was prone to imitating TV characters, so I tried to find shows where the characters were verbal and polite. Daniel Tiger fit the bill.

I found some random videos of DD when she was an infant, and yesterday she spent most of the day then "talking" and acting like a baby... She turned 3 a few months ago.

Haha! Mine did the same thing and it made me nuts! You will miss the goofy little kid stage on day, so don't let it get to you.
