This still worries me because I didn't do anything. I was taking Amtrak between NYC and DC. The train had mechanical problems and we were stuck for several hours. In the seat behind me was a young girl (age 14-18?) and a middle age man(40-50). When I got up several times, I could see he was all over her with hands between her thighs, on her breast, kissing her, etc. I could hear them talking. She was very immature. She said she was taking chorus at school and sang several little songs. The conversation seemed like he didn't know her well. She seemed not to be alarmed. I thought about stepping out of the car and calling 911. But i didn't. When I got off the train I saw her talking to a woman who apparently also on the train, but seated some way away from us. This woman, about 35 or so seemed like she was related to the girl. What would you have done?

I would try talking to her first, tell her what he is doing is illegal and he could get into a lot of trouble, like prison time, and being labeled a sex predator for the rest of his life. It could ruin him.

A grown ass man giving pot to and being romantically involved with a 15 year old should be ruined. He deserves prison and he is a sex offender.

I would tell her mom for her protection. Sadly, this guy will probably move on to some other young girl he can take advantage of. I hope the next one has someone like you to look out for her. It takes a village.

Have you seen what 15yr olds look like? How do you know this guy doesn't think she is 18. And many kids have tried and do smoke pot often. Take it down a notch

Gross. "She was wearing a short skirt, she deserved it."

Yes. This is more than about emotions or confidentiality. It could well constitute a legal issue.

Does romantically involved means sexually involved as well?

If you don't want to tell then have the mom log on to facebook and see it for herself. As a parent, would you want to know?

You are seriously suggesting that OP talk to the 15 year old girl and tell her that she is respsonible for keeping her sexual predator out of trouble with the law?!?!1

What the fuck is wrong with you? She is 15. He is a grown man who is preying on a 15 year old. He is using pot to try to lure her. His ass belongs in prison.

The kid is not responsible for keeping that freak out of prison. She is a victim. She is not responsible for any of this.

read the bolded on my post. I said "what he is doing". I place the blame on him. The reason I said to talk to her is because she probably "loves" him and doesn't want to see him get into trouble, so maybe she'd stop seeing him. This was a way to not break her trust by telling the mom and at the same time, get her to stop seeing the guy.

She would be more likely to run off with him than dump him for his own good. 15 year old, starry eyed girls are not known to give up so easily on love. Tell the parents.

I would definitely tell.

+1 She's in over her head. I would tell without hesitation.

I am the parent of a 14 yo. While my daughter looks mature, once she starts talking her immaturity is clear. If a 22 yo was with her, if he was lucky the police would be involved. An angry father is a scary thing.

18 to 14 might be different....I mean I would still scare him, but I wouldn't pull the trigger.

I read about a case the other day about an 18 yr old boy was looking for a "date" on some dating app, and he met a girl who said she was 18 or something. They met, had sex. Turns out, she was 14. Now the guy is labeled a sex offender and his life is basically ruined. I think the guy was stupid (thinking with his little head) for taking the girl at her word on a dating app, but I certainly don't think he deserves to have his life ruined because of her lie.

I have both a ds and dd, so I can see both sides.

Your friend's 15-year-old daughter is begging you not to tell her mother, on Facebook?
