This. Several reports over the past couple years about strange men asking MS/HS girls if they wanted rides, flashers, etc.

I live easy walking distance to all 3 levels of school. The only reason for me to do what you just said is in an extenuating circumstance (extreme year or cold, errands to run afterward). Otherwise, I park and walk. It's actually auicker than the damn kiss and ride insanity at our school. Plus, a little extra movement and fresh air is good for just about anyone.

My neighbor drives her kids to school, they live two short blocks from it. Who knows why people do what they do.

Health issues - none of your business

I do this every day that I'm going into the office because it's a straighter shot to Metro from the bus stop than my house. On days I telework, I often walk her to the bus.

There are 6 families at our bus stop and only one family doesn't drive. I think it's because the Asian grandma who brings the kids to the bus stop doesn't drive. (when mom brings them, she drives.)

no, stupidity is a big problem. MYOB.

They could have a younger child in the car and its easier to buckle into a car seat than wrangle to the bus stop, stand around waiting for the bus, and walk back home. Especially in bad weather.

I'd pick lazy over lying on this one, and its just as likely that they are going on the way to work or to run other errands.

For those going back home, they want to sit in their cars and tap on their phones, or listen to the radio, or control the air/heat, or don't want to talk to other parents.

There is also the lazy aspect that folds into all of these excuses.

If they are at your neighborhood bus stop, they should live in the neighborhood, so you should know them.

NP here, there are like 20 kids at our bus stop, some of whom live on the opposite side of a pretty busy street. My kid knows most of them from the bus, but before he started riding the bus he only knew the ones in our building.

All sorts of possibilities: running late; going to work; taking child to preschool; a child who wants to play hooky; etc.etc.
