This is a nice idea but not all kids can swim and I would not be ok in less my husband could go in and supervise our child.
They have a shallow end and every kid has to pass a swim test before they can go past the rope. At one of the parties I went to there were maybe 20 kids there and only two ever left the shallow end. Plenty of nonswimmers. And parents can get in too, and some did.

The Montgomery County Nature Centers have nice parties. You can check out the different centers to see what programs they offer and they can tailor it to your crowd.

Building museum in DC does cool parties where they build stuff. They have party rooms and a counselor to lead the kids.
