I you live in close in DC Suburbs or a few other metropolitan areas around the country 450k is comparable to 100k in a good chunk of the res of the country.
Watch house hunters and watch people complain about pay $235k for 6,000 sf house. Then price match that in DC area.

I have a six figure job with a flexible commute (7:30 to 3:30), I like what I do and it does wonders for me as a Mom and a Wife. There's no such thing as a free lunch, if you marry a rich man and stay and home, there will be expectations to keep the house running great, keep yourself thin and beautiful and everything related to kids is kept perfect. No rich man is going to let you stay at home and be a slob, that's just not how life works. Enjoy what you have, a good companionship is priceless.
Amazing...$450k is not rich, huh?
The skewed reality on this board never ceases to amaze me. $450K might not be private-island rich, but it's literally the top one percent.
TRUTH!
If your husband makes $450K and you aren't rich you are doing something seriously wrong.

I make more money than he does and take on the bulk of the responsibilities in raising our son, and it can be really stressful, overwhelming and hard sometimes. But I knew who he was when we got married, and didn't marry him on the condition that he would change and suddenly become a big earner. He is the most loving, kind and supportive man I have ever met, and that's why I married him.
