I love our double sinks. I don't mind a combined tub and shower, though. I really don't understand why separate tub and shower is a selling point, assuming you don't need universal design.

I'd consider another sink only if you can make the shower really nice. Like, it has to include a bench nice. Otherwise, tub.

Second sink! I don't get baths though and have never taken one in my entire life.

Sink no question. We would have passed on houses where the master only had one sink. We bough a house with both 2 sinks and a tub but we're thinking of renovating to remove the tub and put in a huge shower. We have a tub in the 2nd bathroom for the kids and we are not bath people.

Tub. We passed on a lot of nice houses without a tub.

DH and I spitting into the same sink 2x a day as we brush teeth was majorly gross though. It's like a sex killer. We're always getting ready and going to bed at the same time though.

I feel like a second sink in a master is a must-have.

I would personally consider taking the tub out of the master (and am considering it in our house), but I do have concerns about the impact on resale.

I really think it's best to have both.

If you have a kick ass shower, no one cares about no tub. Our current master has no tub as does the one we just purchased-- both sold in under a week. Double sinks, however, are on some people's must have list.

You do need at least one other bathroom on the floor with a tub.

In our master, we have one sink with ample counter space. But on another wall, there's another counter, like a built-in vanity. I was disappointed at first, but as it turns out we don't necessarily each need the SINK at the same time. It's the counter space that's important. I get the entire vanity for all my hair and makeup items. The sink area is for teeth, face washing, and DH shaving. We rarely if ever need to battle for the sink.

That's something to think about if the remodel is just for you and your spouse. I think it'd be harder to convince a buyer that two sinks aren't necessary though.

We have double sinks now, so I think that's why my husband is pushing for it. We almost never use the bathroom at the same time, so I think it's silly. We get ready at different times, and I wash my face in the shower anyway. At most, I will sneak in to brush my teeth while he's in the shower. Figure I can still do that with the single sink.

Which do you prefer? Husband says sink, I say tub.... Main hall bath does have a tub, but it's the only other bathroom in the house.

If you can't do both and the bathroom is tight on space to begin with, you probably won't be standing side by side using the two sink in any case. (I understand the allure b/c one of my first apartments had this, and it was heavenly.)

In terms of re-sale value, a tub makes more sense.
