OP here.
I'm not sure about separating, but when she is sick and doesn't go to school, she keeps texting me constantly or calls 6 times in a row, etc.
We have a nanny (who is wonderful), but she calls me at work and asks me to come home and if someone can fill in for me. I'm a doctor, so my schedule is busy. I can't always pick up the phone when she calls.
I do check on her a few times a day. I don't mind that she calls me, but it just seems a little excessive.
