Me too. My baby was on-site and I pumped to 12 months (and nursed in the evenings after that) but I did not go down to the daycare to nurse during the work day. It would have been much more time away from my desk, and the drama around departure was just too much. So for me personally, no.

Depending on how much flexibility you have with regards to when you take your lunch break, I would nurse at drop off, come late morning, take a late lunch and nurse, and then nurse again at pick up.

OP here, thanks so much for sharing your experiences! I had wondered if it might be hard to nurse and leave and that might lose the time you would save; also DC #1 was a really weak nurser and took FOREVER. But I think I will try it. Lunch time makes a lot of sense esp. since we probably won't get a spot and I won't be back to work right away so I woudln't have to run down every 2-3 hours...

Totally agree--they adapt and it is just their norm

I nursed at lunch and it was great. One less pumping session and less bottles to clean. When she got close to a year leaving became more dramatic but it was just part of the day. At my on-site daycare most infants had a parent that came and visited at lunch time whether they were nursing or not. Just realize it may be hard to nurse then leave immediately. Normally I would spend about 20 minutes nursing and 20 minutes playing, rocking etc. With my job that would have been hard to do multiple times a day for an extended period of time.

I disagree that they can't get used to it if it's part of their day. My DH SAH and I live close to my work, and for the first year or so he would bring DD for her liquid lunch. I'd give him my morning pumped milk to feed in the afternoon, feed the baby, chill a bit with them, and go back. it was lovely.

Not true. I nursed at lunch past a year with VERY few times he had any issue with me leaving. Every child is different of course.

Me too! It helped my transition back and my milk supply. I kept plenty of frozen in the freezer there just in case I was late etc. So nice to see baby and break up the day.
