Not OP, but I would guess with their GT program and some very good publics, people don't feel forced into charters like they do here.
I'm OP and this is true. A lot of he publics are perfectly fine. And there are district and citywide G&T programs so there are more options. People try for charters only if they live in a terrible zone and don't qualify for G&T

Yes we do have proof of addrsss...I mean, no utilities or anything but a letter from the landlord would be easy.
This won't work for enrollment. You will have to have more substantial documentation by May 2016 to enroll.

OP might not realize this now, but no, that's not really helpful. The odds that they'll get into any of the 8 listed charter schools are abysmal. Or does everything change in 2nd grade?
She is starting from scratch. This is a start so yes it is helpful. She also needs to read read read and study past lottery results etc. and things can happen for second. Or will it be third?
Lamb could work for her PK3er, but not her 2nd grader.

A lot changes in second grade.
I'd add DCPS schools Hearst, Murch and Shepherd to that list although the commutes would be rough. Long shots but worth a look.

Her oldest will be too old for YY, I don't think they take kids after 2nd grade.
