Who is taking the 7 kids to the bathroom? You will spend the entire movie shuttling kids to pee. Also, agree with the PPs who say this is kinda lame for a party. Stimulate them - and have them interact with each other.

Two thirty minute shows? That's like having a birthday party where the kids sit and watch tv. I'm a pro-tv mom, but this sounds like a sad party.

Minions is rated PG! That is not appropriate AT ALL for a 4 year old movie. WTH?

Actually commonsense media rates it appropriate for age 5. I was thinking about taking my 4.5 yr old. Anyone seen it yet?


It is fine for a four year old unless you have a problem with weapons or bosses "dying."

Can you do it before the cake? I certainly wouldn't do it afterwards. Maybe he could have a small gathering at the movie theater (with just family or one or two good friends) and then a larger party at your house with cake and more friends?

my 4 year old loves the movie theater. in abstract. but when we get there, he starts with "how much longer til its over?" "i'm scared of this part." "can i go pee?" and on and on and on. taking him to moves is not easy and i wouldn't want to inflict that on anyone - can you invite each kid with a parent?

It really just depends on the kid. My 5.5 YO could sit through a movie at that age no problem, BUT even at this age, he still is very anxious about going to the theater because he doesn't like anything scary. We sometimes have to go out into the hall at the climax/any scary parts.

Avalon Theater on Connecticut Avenue. Rent the entire upstairs theater. You can bring in cake and pizza. Lots of room.

At 4, not a chance my son would sit through it and not a chance I'd allow him to go alone without me. We waited till 5 to go to the movies and went during less crowded times. Take your kid to the movie and plan a different style party.
