OP, I think of this as I'm talking to guys who are younger. That's in the back of my mind, being the oldest. I'm certainly over the club phase.

OP, yours is not a very large age gap in numbers, but... I do think that people generally shouldn't settle down until they've had about 5 years after college to grow up, do things for themselves and get stuff out of their systems. A lot happens in that 5 years of living on your own after college, away from parents, etc. There is a natural difference between someone your age, who's been out if college for 6 years, and someone who is just out.

OP, try not to be focused on their ages - just talk to them and try to find common ground. Remember, everyone's favorite subject is themselves.

I'm in my late twenties and have had friends/acquaintences in the past few years ranging from their late teens to their mid-fifties. I try to get to know people.

No. It's weird but several of the women were mature (but fun). DH and I were probably at the same stage in our early 30s (very into bars, travel,etc) as they were in their mid-20s. We delayed having kids until I was 35 because we had a lot to get out of our system.

I'm 43 with close friends from late 20s to mid 60s. My husband is 5 years younger.

we have friends at all stages of life. Some 30 year olds act older than the 50+ year olds. People are individuals.

That's not really much of an age difference - you are all in your twenties. Plus women are usually more mature than men. They don't have to be your soul mates - just be cordial.
