I agree that a 750 per person party is a lot and made of honor making a lot of assumptions that everyone's financial situation.

I went to a much more low key bachelorette party during my pregnancy I was willing to pay for everything but the organizer offered to give me a proportional discount since I wasn't drinking. I was also the bride's designated driver so she didn't need to use a taxi or uber.

OP, I went on a trip like this when I was pregnant. It even included a day of wine tasting. I went along, but the other women attending made it clear that I would not have to pay for alcohol as soon as I announced. Maybe they will surprise you?

Why would you need to give money upfront to cover anticipated taxi rides?

Whoever planned this seems like an idiot!

Agree that if you aren't going to tell, you need to just pay it. Either way, I'd go ahead and just pay. Most of that cost is unlikely to be alcohol anyway -- probably taxis, rooms, rentals on rooms at bars/restaurants if that's what they are doing, etc.

$750 PER person??? I assume you're sharing a room, yes? NYC is expensive, but damn that is a lot of money up front, even if you're drinking.

I find the pre-payment odd and I've been in this situation MANY times (traveling for bachelorette parties etc).

+1. Did they even give you a break down of expenses? How could they possibly know what it's going to cost for dinner out, drinks and taxis this early? I'd be peeved.
