I get how you feel, OP. I've never been to marriage counseling, but I've been to several different therapists on my own, and I am yet to find someone that I feel 100 percent comfortable with. I think this is why therapy never really worked for me. I think you have to feel really comfortable with your therapist in order for therapy to work. If you have some type of a hang up about them, you aren't going to be able to really open up.

OP, none of these people will look as good in person as they do in their photos.

OP, highly attractive therapists and doctors make me uncomfortable, even when I'm not there for marital issues and just for my own items. Male or female. It's not like I think they are going to be mean to me or try to steal my spouse or anything, it just makes me feel like I can't open up as much right off the bat.

I look for the most qualified person, but in a situation where I have multiple good choices (which is usually the case for therapists and general practitioners, not so much for specialists), if I have a photo of them, I tend to tilt slightly away from any that are particularly attractive.

Just want you to feel not crazy/not alone at least.

OP

Find a plane Jane I am sure there are some. Or a male. Listen to your gut.

OP: Are there attraction issues in your marriage? Are you concerned that she may provide biased opinions?
