What about taking her to all fired up or color me whatever in virginia--they are pottery painting places.

Take her, let her pick out something to paint.
Experience and she'll have an awesome keepsake from it.

The issue with that is that most libraries won't allow a nanny to get their charge a card unless the nanny has temporary or limited custody. It's supposed to be parents and guardians only due to the financial responsibility and the libraries' policies on not censoring books.
~Nanny that has limited custody, for this sort of thing, medical, school, etc.

The Klutz craft books are great! the Twisted Critters one was our DD's favorite and became our go-to gift for 6 yo birthdays. It's the one with the pipe cleaner animals.

The Klutz brand pot holder and lanyard books are always a hit, too.
