Last year, they partnered with Meridian to act as a host for a bunch of the camps at the Bowen location. They planned to do the same this year; however, Meridian would/could not commit space and strung the Y along for months (like, from September through March) before finally backing out altogether - and then the Y scrambled to find another host site near Bowen and placed more camps than expected at Inspired as a result.
We (ITS) did not get notification about which camps would be where until late May. I totally agree that it's a problem and I think the Y is in a tough position - they depend on school partners and do the best they can, but could do more to proactively communicate when things are in flux. And I don't think they appreciate the difficulty that those two miles E/W between Bowen and Inspired can add to a family's commute/transit/etc.
I do think the lack of commitment from a partner school near the Y contributed to the poor communication.
