Because people kept starting multiple threads about it, IIRC.

Has anyone filed a complaint? This is where you would do it:

It doesn't seem right that you have to choose a specific new practice in order to get the records. Nor that you would have such a short amount of time to request them (even if you did get the notice on time).

I just called to make appt for my son's physical in December and found out. We've been going there since 2004 and never received a notification at all! Agree with everyone else on poor organization and the insanity of getting shots at CVS in recent years, but we stayed because we liked Dr. Koomson. Is anyone having success getting records at this late date? I am really disappointed in the practice for closing without properly notifying us.

FYI, if you have moved or are moving to Capitol Medical Group from Pediatric Village, the CMG website now has a form to get your medical records transferred. The deadline is tomorrow (10/28/15)!

I had an annual set up months before, found on on 8/26 when I called to confirm appt for next day. I did the email request for records. If anyone actually gets a reply and records processed, do drop a note.

Wow!! I am one of the families who had NO IDEA this practice was closing. No letter, no nothing and I have been there since 2002!! I only found out because I have two forms that need to be signed before school starts so I called the # and..... and now I am way past the end of July in terms of getting records. But, I guess I should choose a new place before I attempt to ask for records to transfer.

Any thoughts on where else to go? I certainly won't miss the fact that we had to go elsewhere for immunizations. That was ridiculous.

How is the practice where Dr. Koomson is now? She was good.

Hello. fyi in the end there was no general arrangement made with CMG about transfering the files only the family that requested back in July, but even for them they have no idea where the records are (they only receive a few so far). I saw Aden and Dr Koomson, they cannot help with the records, we have to request them as indicated on PV website. We are one of the families who had no idea the practice was closing. I found out last week and sent the medial record transfer request to the PO box on website.

Has anyone received their records so far?
thanks!

I think all the records were transferred to Capitol medical group unless you made other arrangements, so they are the custodians now. Call CMG and ask.

I wasn't with Pv, but I am with CMG now and I gather this from the staff talki while checking people in at a recent appointment.

I think you needed to have done that by the end of July, the doors were closing then.

The sad part is that for the families who had no idea, there was no call or letter sent to tell them so they could arrange getting their records.

I hope you find a way but when we picked up our records the last week of July it was pretty much empty.

Good morning all

Has anyone been able to pin down how/where to get their child(ren)'s medical records?

Does anyone know if the office is still open in terms of picking up medical records? I know mine were copied but I did not go to pick them up before they closed. Ugh. I can't get anyone on the phone at billing and no one called me back after I faxed in an inquiry to the number on the website for medical records.

thanks in advance for any tips on how to get these records or what recourse we might have.

I would also be interested if anyone has information on how to get medical records. I have been calling and trying to fax over the request form for the last two weeks and no one has answered. I was shocked to find out they were closing when I went to the website to double check the phone number when I had trouble reaching them to schedule an appointment. I would think they would be legally obligated to provide information on how to get those records after July 15th (though it seems that they actually closed a few weeks before that. thanks!

I know! I wish I could complain to BBB, but as they are closing,I guess it won't matter to them. I put up with that BS for so long. I could kick myself for being such an idiot for not leaving years ago.
Anyway, the office is open until the end of this month and they are still processing requests for records. I sent my request in almost a month ago, and just today I talked to someone in the office who suggested I just have the records transferred to Dr Koomson's new office. No thank you! Just give me the f** records now!
