Not all ER's have the capabilities to do MRI's. Patients don't always realize this. If she had really severe symptoms warranting a stat MRI, her doctor likely would have requested a stat scan. I can request an MRI be done within 24 hours.

What symptoms are causing the doctor to actually suggest a brain tumor without an MRI?
