try it out cautiously. that was too big of an age gap a few years ago. now i'm 32 and talking to someone 27/28 (turning 28 this year) and the age spread is less of an issue. at 37, a 32yo guy is no big deal at all.

My best friend did exactly this. She was okay about a fling or more and wasn't sure if she wanted kids.

Five years passed- he moved into the apt she paid for and they adopted a dog together. She tells him she wants marriage and kids. He agrees, says he will propose, the backs out of it saying he wants to travel the wprld and be free.

Three years later she's the sole owner of their pitbull and still living in her cramped apt by herself while he travels the world. He recently announced his engagement to a girl two years younger.

Skip it.

My ex was 22 when we met, I was 26. I had no idea how young he was when I met him and then he convinced me that the age gap did not matter. I was very hesitant at first. Well, it did not end well...we were together a total of 12 years (married for 9) and then he left. He changed a LOT between 22 and 30. I think, in general, men do change a lot in their 20s.

At what age did you meet your dh? My husband is 7 years younger too, met him when i was 33 and he was 26 exactly the age you and your husband are now, 10 years and 3 children later and we are still happy, go for it op you never know.

Pp here. I met him when I was 31. We just got married this year. What age did you have your first child? I know of another couple where DH is 32 and DW is 37. They seen to be happy, no kids though.

They're in their forties now and happily married with 2 cute kids.

The feel of a gap, if any, lessens over time - don't sweat it.

why are women so cautious about age differences and men are not? a guy wouldnt think twice before dating a girl 5 years younger.

The only problem may be that he may not be ready to marry you until he's 28-30.

If he's hot, go for it. in 20 years, you'll be glad. Men age faster than women.

This. My only qualm about this age difference is that you apparently think it is a big deal for some reason, which means you run a high risk of letting it become one.

Actually, that's not my only qualm. I also think he's not going to propose to you until he's at least 28, so if you're going to freak out when you're still dating at 33, it will be an issue.
