anyone else find it odd that these "low maintenance" women are ready and posting on a beauty & fashion forum?

nah -- it's called looking like a human. painted nails look garish.

+1 Low maintenance woman's friend.

What? I'm curious what you mean by this. I don't think I've ever seen it...

I'm considering going the natural route. I have been lap swimming in the mornings and I'm some kind of dumdum that manages to scrape my big toes at some point and the polish always comes off. I just repaint my big toes twice a week, haha.

I prefer painted toes but this summer being preggo I'm giving myself an exception. I can't even cut them anymore, have to enlist help. I wish I liked pedicures but I can't stand them!

Am I committing a complete faux pas by wearing sandals all summer without polished toes?

Only if you are a stripper or are making some porn. I can't believe you think it is mandatory.

My toenails look better covered up, but I also have unattractive feet and somehow the polish draws the attention away. If your feet and toenails look fine, without polish is fine too.

As long as they are clean and trimmed, it's fine. I like my nails when they are buffed, so they are smooth and a little satiny.

Anonymous wrote:Seriously? I never paint my toenails, ok I did once for the novelty. I'm low maintenance. My toenails are clean and trimmed. I do notice that almost *every* women's toenails are done up. I just can't be bothered, though.

We should be friends!

Agree that a light color -- a light pink or nude -- can go a long way and still look natural.

Clear polish, at least, for some shine

I do too, and I'm pretty low maintenance.

I never paint my fingernails, but I always have my toes done. It's pretty easy because a pedicure lasts me 3+ weeks. But having said that, no one is forced to paint her toenails.

Same here. While natural is certainly someone's prerogative, I rarely see toes that would not benefit from being covered up.
