Nope we actually lived in a different part of the country when it was shot.

All the houses were so similar on that show, I started to wonder if they provided a house for filming. So, you say it's your home, but did you have to do any home improvements? New paint and decor? Something about the homes on that show seemed staged.

They changed a lot of our lighting, put tint on the windows, and put masking tape on/took down things with obvious brand logos.

Yes, we received a small sum of money.

It is funny you ask that! Not really in public anymore (when it was first on, yes, and a few years after that), but I still get Facebook messages probably once a month about the show. Kind of creepy they a.) not only remember, but also go through the work to find me. But I suppose that is the price you pay when going on national television.

All kids on Super Nanny are assholes, due to parental failure.

The actual timeline for the most part follows what you saw on the show. The first two days are all observation. The camera crew (and Jo herself) followed us around doing our daily activities for 10 hours a day. Then, we had an hour long meeting, and the teaching began for two full days (with some more observation thrown in). She left, then came back for another for more teaching and discussion at the table.
