Last night's episode was surprising in terms of what the family from Massachusetts did.

People on Twitter look at income and wonder why they are in debt. The reason is simple, cost of living is higher in some parts of the US than others.

Yay! Maybe CBS will learn their lesson and take this CRAP off the air.

Doubt it, there are not many episodes and it is summer season.

Couples have to make some very important decisions over the course of their lives together, but Joshua and Susan Scott of Mechanicsville will have to make arguably one of their biggest ever when they appear on the new CBS reality show “The Briefcase,” which airs at 8 tonight.

“It was definitely a life-changing moment,” said Susan, 38, a warrant specialist for the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. “You can’t go through something like this and not” grow as a couple.

The series premiered May 27.

“To me it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, plain and simple,” said Joshua, 33, a telecommunications specialist. “How often does something like this come to your doorstep”?

What arrived at the couple’s doorstep was a show that offered them $100,000 along with a decision to keep it, share some or give it away to another family that needs it as much as themselves.

According to a news release from CBS, the show “follows their emotional journey toward their final decision, as well as delving into topics such as faith, generosity, and hope.”

The creator of the new CBS reality show The Briefcase, which documents what happens after presenting two families with $101,000, says that it’s unfair to say his program “pits poor families against one another.”

“It’s not about the money. The show has very little if anything to do with money,” says The Briefcase’s Dave Broome, best known for creating The Biggest Loser for NBC. “It’s about love, communication within your marriage, finding a common bond between another family that might be incredibly different than yours. That’s what show is about.”

It's easy to say it's not about money when you're not in debt and struggling to keep your head above water.

They don't know about the other briefcase.

Last night's episode was interesting to say the least.

Such a gross premise, to exploit people in tough times. I hope it tanks.
