No extra points. FWIW, she could have the name Genevieve and still use Rocky as a nickname. I don't see nns as shortened versions of a name, they stand alone.

My friend's dad always suggests Big Ramona and Wilbur to everyone contemplating baby names.

I actually once knew a girl with the nickname Rocky, her given name was Veronica.

If you need a "V" you could possibly get to Rocky from Veronica.

But I wouldn't worry too much about having the real name and the nickname match up. Give the kid a classic G or V name so that she has something available to put on the embassy wall if she ever becomes president, and then just call the kid "Rocky"
