Gave the kick in the pants, not have!

OP back - the night I posted this we had a little spat and then the next morning I directly explained a lot of what I posted here. The next day he sorted a few things out. Guess I have the kick in the pants needed. Hopefully we're moving forward now.

To the PP who suggested talking about it - I may wait a bit for it to be more in the past, but that is a good idea.

To the SAHM who mentioned the isolation, thanks for the reminder.

To the PP who mentioned getting him back to work ... He hates working so we'll see how things go in a year or so when we need him back earning an income ...

I see this problem a lot amongst my married friends.

They complain about how their men seem so clueless about handling stuff like this. It's like they need a reminder to call to make an appointment as well as a kick in the pants to do something that was asked of them a week or a month ago.

One friend's hubby called her at work in a panic because he didn't know what to pack his son for his lunch that day. What the hell....???!

I think there are certain men who either prefer to be taken care of like when they were younger or are just too damn lazy and know instinctively that whatever they do not do, their wives will. I highly doubt any man is as clueless as he portrays. Sorry.

For your hubby, I say he deserves a kick in the pants. He knows he can do these things, he just wants to outsource them to you because it makes his life easier.

He needs to get back to work. When you work you get in a groove of making decisions ALL DAY LONG. This happened to my mother. We didn't need her, she didn't do anything for us, and my father would ask her to do errands like going to the bank or post office and after two weeks he'd have to do it herself because she couldn't make it happen.

Get your husband back at a job.
