We're another family that has had two children at WFCH. It's a wonderful school that has really worked out well for our two children -- who happen to be very different from each other. I've always felt that safety/security were being addressed -- as a PP said, you need a PIN to get in, there is a security camera up front and often someone sitting right at the front desk. Yes, the parking lot could be bigger, but we've been willing to put up with that in exchange for the quality of the teachers and the curriculum.

Second the comment about there being no half-way houses around the school - who writes stuff like that? We are on our second WFCH child, first graduated last year and is doing extremely well in his new traditional first grade. We have been parents at WFCH since 2006 (it was the fourth daycare that we switched too, I'm fairly neurotic about the little things), and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The school is in the North Bethesda/Rockville area, I think it's as safe as anywhere else in MoCo. If you are truly concerned about safety, the playground has very high closed fence, and no one can access the school without entering a security pin and entering through a door that has a secruity camera. The population of the school has trippled since we started, and the school has become very diverse, which is an added benefit.

We have our second child at White Flint and have had an amazing experience. Just to be clear, there are no halfway houses anywhere near the school. The parking lot is not ideal, but the program is amazing and we really have had no problems with the drop/off, pick/up/. Our first child started at 3, but our second went throught the 2 year old classroom and we really think that she is getting more out of the 3-6 class having the experience with the 2 year old room. The teachers are amazing and the school does a lot to get parents and families involved with the school.

We toured White Flint and we didn't like it, so we went with another Montessori school. With that said, we do know other families who sent their kids to White Flint and they liked it very much. To each his/her own...

We moved to white flint after a bad experience at another school. Our experience has been fabulous. Our teacher and the director are wonderful, making sure my son's transition was smooth since he started late. I have had no problems and found the school to be quite open with communication. I'm not sure what the mixed reviews could be, other than the parking lot is terrible.

Hi, I know this is an older post but I was curious if some of the previous posters ended up with White Flint. How was your experience? What other schools did you consider in the area? I was wonder if the previous posters that were interested in white flint actually enrolled their children there.
We are moving to the area and this place is probably the most convenient for us. I've read mixed reviews on here.

True, indoor gym is very nice, afternoon programs are one of the best I have seen, but they seems to be too strick... tell me if I am wrong.

I live in the area and considering WFCh as well. I heart that there is a half-house around Shoppers area....
The part that drive me crazy is the playground on the parking lot. No shade, no trees and very small for this size of the school.

My son has been there since Nov, having moved from a school we were not happy with it. We love, love, love it. His teacher is phenomenal and the director is attentive and he is thriving. I could not recommend it more.
