You're repeating yourself a lot. You sound annoyed. No one is picking you out as failing to complete your work - but you have to know that there are plenty of disappointed parents where the teachers are failing to keep working.

Ha! What teacher has the money for a long vacation?
Its zero to do with money and every thing to do with time. June 12 end. August 31st start - for state schools, often June 12 end and Sept 8 start for privates. Use your brain.
MCPS teachers report until 6/16 and come back in mid-August.
Sure they do but they are not "teaching" during that time, with no kids in the class.

My husband and I are both teachers, and we're heading to Europe this summer with the kids.
No, we're not millionaires, but we're not idiots with our money either.
Thanks for making a sweeping generalization.
You must have many years of experience in a high paying school district then. I can barely afford my bills some months.
It's their mama and papa buying them the trip, but they will never admit it

Anonymous wrote:After APs and senior finals, many upper level classes basically end. Yes, kids are expected to show up and sometimes have a final project, but basically the school year is over for them in May. After next week my 11th grader will only have instruction in three classes. Even teachers in the music programs stop teaching after the final concerts which happen in late April-mid May. Pretty ridiculous and a waste of time.
