Exactly, which schools in Arlington are amazing on a 750 budget that is close to Georgetown?

You should buy a home in N Arlington - you can get a SFH in some places for about $750K (if your budget is more, great!). You will be ridiculously close to your sister (probably easier to get to than if you were in the city), you will have amazing public schools, and you are close enough to the city to enjoy whatever "urban living" people claim to have in DC (it's DC, not Manhattan, not like you are going to have much of a difference between the Orange Line and Dupont).

I'd definitely go Arlington. Lots of areas with walkability, great schools with less stress...it's a done deal.

Hardy is a great school. OP, do not even try to read through all the hardy history. It is the ms in georgetown with kids from the neighborhood and from other parts of the city. They have some interesting programs and a dedicated, excellent staff. It is small for a ms, about 400-500 kids, i think, but maybe your kids are accostomed to smaller schools from their intl experience. Hardy feeds to wilson which is a great hs.
make life easy on yourself, find an apt or house near your sister. You can drive yourself crazy with the lottery and charters, not worth it imo combined with an intl move and a divorce.
Deal is also a great option, i actually have 2 kids there and would have sent them to hardy if that was our ib ms.
a the elementary schools that feed hardy and deal are great, you cant go wrong. Really. those neighborhoods are not from your sister either and you can find relatively affordable apts in boundary for either ms.

It did. If you move In Boundary for Earon, OP, it will also mean that your middle school-aged kids will go to Hardy, which at this point isn't as good as Deal. I would strongly suggest to move directly inbounds for Deal. You can check what schools specific addresses are in boundary for at find.myschooldc.org.

Like others, it's hard to advise without knowing your budget. If you want to be near Georgetown, I'd move to N. Arlington in Virginia, put your two older kids in public school (and despite what some here would have your believe,,they're all fine), and put the youngest in daycare (I presume you will have to work) .

Please don't hire a consultant. It is a waste of your money.

Not a bad idea, might be a good buffer while they figure out their way around the city until she decides what to do next year.

I like city living too but in your shoes I'd look for a house in close in Bethesda in the Whitman school district. The least expensive single family home option will be a split level around $900,000. But can't get much cheaper inbounds for Deal.

I don't know anything about hardy or deal but hardy does not have a good reputation on this board. Fwiw.

I would move in boundary to an elementary school that feeds to Deal/Wilson, which means you won't have to worry about the lottery. Good luck!
