I just moved to CCDC. I love mature trees and would never do such a thing, but alas, I have a TH with no yard. If anyone wants to trade houses, I will gladly take over your garden and do it properly

+1. When new people move into our neighborhood, they do what you did. usually they go with small evergreen shrubs placed 4-5 feet apart and some mulch. Its a clean updated look.
It's a really, really, really boring look.
