My mom lives far away so she got a card, a gift (a glass totschke - she loves glass), and a call.

My MIL lives locally and she and SIL and I went out yesterday to a lovely afternoon tea (organized by my SIL). Usually DH buys gifts for his family but he has been crazy busy at work so I got her a nice necklace & matching earrings and some flowers and a card. DH called her today and the kids talked to her. I told him next year he needs to plan something for her so we all are together on Mother's Day.

We do the same except dh and sign both cards to both moms.

We do different things. Generally, my husband and daughter take his mom to breakfast. My mother is usually out of town. Last year we hosted a number of friends for a party.

We send cards.
