Anonymous wrote:It depends on the nature of the dates. This is why you really need to set up the second date as a real, honest date. Guy needs to pick the girl up, go out to dinner, etc.
As a guy, one of the problems I have, is that I really hate kisses in the car. Especially for the first kiss. They are awkward. I much prefer standing in front of her where I am able to really do it right. Look into her eyes straight on and have full use of my body to do what I need to do. So in the past, at times I haven't kissed on the second date even though I very much wanted to. It just wasn't right logistically.

Today's liberated woman does not view sex as something to be ashamed or to that one should hold back. If there is not sufficient chemistry that would make both people want to have sex after three dates, why waste time on the relationship.
In days gone by, a woman who had sex too early in a relation was viewed as easy or a slut. Does not apply today.
Haha maybe in your atheist mind. Tell that to any new immigrant or first generation non western person and yes they will tell you it's very slutty.
Oh, some cultures - especially new immigrants from some countries would view it the way you describe - but for the vast majority of American women I doubt they would interpret having sex on a third or fourth date has a negative connotation.
Vast majority of Americans question the judgment of someone who has sex after the third date. Not sure we've moved away from "slutty."

Back in my single days I met wonderful guys where there was no spark and I would give it a few dates to see if chemistry would evolve (and ultimately it did, with my now DH)...but never, ever was I just trying to get a free dinner out of it!! that's just ridiculous. I would rather be home watching TV than at the a Ritz with a guy I'm not connecting with.
It's like some weird urbsn legend that's thrown around here by guys who feel they've been di**ed around, I don't know.
