The house posted by the OP is under contract.

I drive on this road for my commute during prime rush hour and it's never busy, but people do go faster than the posted 25mph (like up to 40). I didn't click on your link but the houses on that street seem set back a little away from the street so as long as I had a turn around for my car I wouldn't be worried about it.

It seems that a lot of people are born and bred suburbanites. If you grew up in a city then all this main road talk about noise sounds silly. It's all about perspective I guess.

Currently I live on Shreve Road - the only noises that I notice when I'm inside the house are from lawnmowers and related equipment and the helicopters that hover nearby in the mornings. I think they do traffic reports or something like that.

I do agree that you want to be able to turn the car around and have sightlines to enter the road safely. We didn't put an offer in on a house on Swinks Mill and one on Idylwood because of sightlines from the driveway.

Nicer back yard than most of McLean. Except you would have to ensure your neighbors are not a-holes.

For the price, I'd grab it. It is set back well enough. OP, if you are seriously considering a house like that, you need to check it out during rush hour. Remember, rush hour in that area is 7-10+, and 3-7+.

I don't think there are any other comparisons to main roads. A main road is a main road.

Heck, even some side streets in McLean are as bad, if not worse, than the main roads!

Does it at least have sidewalks?
