Has anyone heard that the Upper School is losing 16 faculty this year? And that last year the Upper School lost 13? What's with that?

I dont think the new Potomac headmaster is trying to go the route in which Bullis has gone. They hired a good football coach from Mount Saint Joseph's. I doubt they would even consider hiring Coach Giblin. They should hire a young assistant coach from the IAC or WCAC who has aspiration to take over a program.

Giblin would never coach in the mediocre MAC. There are many schools that would fire their current coach if it meant getting Giblin as a coach. A return to the IAC is unlikely, but there are several WCAC schools where interest from Giblin would be reciprocated. Even if it's not the WCAC, going to the MAC is beyond imagination.

Why wouldn't Giblin consdier a MAC school previous poster ?


I highly doubt any school from this area would hire him as he comes with too much baggage despite being an amazing coach!

Have heard rumors that Potomac is hiring the former Georgetown Prep lacrosse coach. If true, shows Potomac may be trying to go down the Bullis path of very high profile sports. Not surprising given the football coach head of school, I guess.

Potomac will stay a strong academic school -- they've built a great reputation and they're in a good area. They may find that chasing sports success can result in some minor issues (whose "spots" do recruited athletes "take" for example), but I doubt there will be a sea change and/or any serious negative effects. And meanwhile, people love winning teams.
