It's not about what other people think but being appropriately dressed for the event. Our friends' kids will be similarly dressed.

Our net worth is in the 8 figures and DS needs formal, tailored clothes for the places we travel to. We take our nanny too.
Let's reacquaint ourselves with the meaning of the word "need." You want your DD to have formal, tailored clothes. She could wear far cheaper clothes and life would go on.

Yeah that is a good amount. Unknown others will disagree but I think having a clothing budget and making fiscal choices for aesthetic reasons is a good skill to have.
OK, good. I'm tired of buying $75 jeans at American Apparel or $125 at Lucky Brand. If it's her money, maybe she will make better choices, or have less new clothing for the summer.
