I think this is actually true of most people. When you find someone with whom you have chemistry, your sex drive is not nearly as low as you might have previously thought it was.
My husband was interested in sex about every 5-7 days 20 years ago, and guess what? That's still his frequency. It's not me, it's not that we've been together a long time. He's just not a very sensual or sexual person.

Guy here - this is a much larger issue than most people realize. It's also causing an ED epidemic in young men.
The science on this is sketchy. But, in our anti-sex culture, it fulfills a desired narrative. So, you'll get sites like "your brain on porn" evangelizing about how porn addiction is the scourge of our youth. In earlier generations, it was automobiles, rock & roll music, and even comic books that threatened our young people. Anxiety about sex plus anxiety about kids is a potent combination that will never fail to find a receptive audience.

I was young, in the best shape of my life, living with my boyfriend who was a nationally ranked athlete with a huge training schedule. I think he was just exhausted during the week - it was about once a week which seems low when you're in your twenties. I don't think he was gay or cheating.

Medication is a huge factor.
So is cardiovascular health.
If a man's libido suddenly drops, you absolutely need to rule both of those items out before getting into stuff like hormones and his sexuality.

For those on anti-depressant meds, I suggest taking Wellbutrin instead. I have heard this does not affect libido.
I am a Female on Zoloft and thankfully my libido hasn't been affected.
Some men suffer from low testosterone levels. A Dr. can give medication to help this affliction.

SPOT ON! For most of my life my testosterone was near the top and yes my drive was also near the top. Through time it has lowered to the upper mid range and while the 'performance/drive' during is still high the libido has lessened.

Husband is low drive, morbidly obese, tried testosterone and it didn't work. We have sex maybe 6 times a year at most and then only for him - nothing for me (cause, you know, I should just be happy he was interested...

There are slim people with very low libido ... yeah they can find fault with their girl friend or wife not being hot, but that's not the case.
Year ago a friend's wife (one of the original Victoria's secret angels) divorced him because he would not touch her.
Both were in their 20's\ and both were gorgeous.
When I asked Ale why he would not touch her, he simply replied he did not find her physically appealing ...
I think PP is talking about how excess fat can increase estrogen levels and decrease testosterone in men, thus lowering sex drive.
