My grandfather was Polish catholic, but my grandmother was just catholic, not Polish. However, she adopted many of the Polish customs since she had many Polish neighbors. We never had the lamb Easter cake. Instead we had the lamb Easter butter. It was sold in the local grocery store at Easter.

Did anyone used to have the round loaf of bread with a purple circle of paper with a white cross on it? I remember that was in the basket every year.
